Hydro Power Giant Roars Into Life

China's largest hydroelectric power station went into operation on saturday. The Ertan power station, in Sichuan Province, has six generators with a total installed generating capacity of 3.3 million kilowatts. It will generate 17 billion kilowatts of power annually ‹ a quarter of the total power generated for the Chongqing-Sichuan power grid.
